Its sad to here that the doors of this great school wil l be closing.graduated in 2004 from the Palm Harbor campus. The teachers were hands on and knowledgeable in the field. I was able to find a job right away. They made it easy for me to go to school,work and I was a single mother. It was a great experience and a very fond memory. Good luck to all the staff and thank you.

I have been in extern, ending my last weeks very soon. I love the place I extern at, in fact I wish I could stay there longer because I thoroughly have enjoyed it. The directors and instructors picked the right fit me and my personality.nnDid the school prepare me right? Pretty much, yes. There were some changes in style due to circumstances of each patient and also some quicker ways of doing things, but knowing the correct way which CFI taught, I could adjust easily.nnI have heard many complaints from past students such as: Why did they make a person go MA slash cardiac. . .they were separate before. Well, maybe the answer is to broaden a person, know a little this and a little that, as a MA, not just cardiac. . .again one can broaden off with ordering additional study national exam books. The school gave you the basics for other certifications, such as phlebotomy, one can easily further study for the national test in that besides a certification in the MA course.nnI hear in some advanced medical education and careers, they want students to have held at least 1 year working in some kind of medical career with Pt’s(patients) before they are even accepted or it is at least a bonus to have the one year behind you.nnAgain, I have thoroughly enjoyed my exern so far. The site picked for me totally fitted to my personality. It made me feel, yes, I can go on further and deal with all the sites and emotions that one will see in the medical field. I can move forward in education in the medical field knowing I am moving in a right direction.nnAm I an instructor at CFI ? NO, I am not. .. In fact some instructors probably wanted to kill me as a student because of my head strong, bull headed ways which I spoke my mind and fought back against things I didn’t feel right with the school. Did I take some heat? Yes, I did. Sometimes it takes more than a person writing bad comments on the internet and not actually addressing problems to the ones in charge to change things.nnAll schools have their problems which I hear many complain about. Have I complained about certain things at CFI? Yes, but I did something about them in most of the cases. Did some things change or even get addressed as a problem when I did this? Yes, in most cases. It is ALL about the individual. Basically just about being an adult with values and drive and yes looking into things before signing the dotted line with any school is something that should be done. Continuing education is not cheap and not easy. Getting a job is another hurdle for anyone in this day and age. But most important is you as a person, that determines who you become and what others see you as, the rest falls in line. The choice is yours.
