This place is tiny, I've only been here once and it was about 6 months ago when I adopted my sweet fur kitty. She was definitely not properly cared for, she was sick when we got her, was still healing from being fixed, her hair was like wire and she couldn't stop sneezing. They told me she was about 10 weeks but had not done her rabies shot and she was honestly more around 4-6 weeks old. It took a lot of TLC but we got her healthy and she is the BEST kitty ever!! She gives hugs and kisses and loves to snuggle ud83dudc96

We adopted our cat Nibbler from here 2 years ago. While this place is small, under staffed, and way under funded for the amount of animals that need their help and vet care, they are amazing and do the best that they can with what they have. Nibbler was around 2 years old when we went in with broken hearts from our 2- 15 year old cats being killed by a neighborhood dog a few months before. He was the first cat we saw and he made himself known. When we walked away he kept sticking his front legs/arms through the cage and rolling around trying to get attention. He came from a call in Ocklawaha saying there was a stray with an injured eye. Treatment was not successful so they removed it. This massive kitten went home with us that day. I say kitten because that's what he acted like for the first year and a half. He has been so great to have around. Took to being an inside kitty with no problem. Love him to pieces and next time we're looking for a new fur baby we will check the pound first.

Hi so iv gotten 2 dogs from here one awhile ago and one recently as in like a day ago and while we were doing the dog meet and greets my dog got nervous and jumped into the little Kittie pool and the pool was very very gross and so did the dog that we took home he also jumped in and they both ended up with rashes on them and now I am taking them to the vet but on top of that so when we got our first one she got sick from hook worms and we honestly had no idea where it came from and we took her to the vet and got her medicated but still not knows where it came from we treated everything so after we took our new baby home he already seemed sick and we saw a worm in his stool when we got home and just wondered if the hook worms are coming from the shelter. But as I said we are taking them to the vet tomorrow to get them all better u rated 3 stars because the staff is very nice and tries to be helpful but they definitely need more volunteers or more people to clean up and make sure the animals are for sure healthy ( but I have no idea if the hook worms came from there just saw a correlation could even be from my yard or something which we will be treating again ) thank you!
