I been trying to call for the past 2 weeks, calls many time, left voice mail and email. I even call at 7:30 am and no one pick up. This county needs to update their system in any other county for a re-roof is giving in 1 min to the most 1 day. It's been 2 weeks and no communication. You are working and we need the work as well. Companies can loss contract because of you guys delays. If you update yours system this wouldn't be happening.

We have been waiting sine Nov 18th when the building dept recieved our application for our permit to build our home. We have called left messages sent emails all with no response. In the mean time we are blowing through our savings that we need to complete the home. What is taking so long??? The least you could do is return calls or emails to let us know what the hold up is..We are 2 months behind now on the build. We are basically homeless while you are taking your sweet time. Answer you calls!!!!

Absolute nightmare. They don't return calls. Takes months to get a simple permit. Same excuses over and over for a year....they are killing my small business and no one cares. They need someone in there that knows how to manage a permit office.

So far this will be rated a two star: Called regarding a Permit. The person I spoke to seemed dazzled and not competent in her position (I asked her questions and she had to ask someone else in close proximity for the answer). She was helpful but I could sense she was exasperated and over burdened. There are more questions I have but trying to get a hold of someone in the Permitting Dept is like pulling teeth. And the email they emailed me on the Codes are ambiguous in some areas. Called again today (12-9-2020) and the recorded message was they are back logged and wont be open until tomorrow (12-10-2020). I also emailed the County Commissioner Steve Champion (12-7-2020) to get some feedback and offered suggestions to relax permits if possible, and provide Hernando County with the extra personnel needed, but to date there's been no response. We are working people that need to move forward much quicker and these delays are costing us our lively hood...and a ONE HOUR lunch break is costing the Tax Payers more in the long run.

The zoning dept of Hernando County is an excellent example of how people should be treated. Every contact I had with them, I was treated very kindly and with the upmost respect . Chris, Cindy and the rest of the staff have been very helpful and made the process very easy to deal with. I'm very happy that I am moving to an area where people are still treated with courtesy.
