Since the 20-year shingles on our West Allis bungalow were 24 years old, and we had been having problems with ice dams, it was the year for a new roof. With 5 star reviews, a competitive price, and a salesman who responded very quickly to any phone call or text from us, we chose Evansen.nnShingles and other materials were delivered the day before. On the day of our project, the large Evansen crew started at 7am with a complete tear off. Roofing boards were repaired as needed. Ice and water barrier, etc. were installed along with new metal in the valleys, which were our problem areas. 50-year Owens-Corning Duration dimensional shingles went on top. They also put a new roof on our detached garage. The cleanup was absolutely perfect and they were finished by sunset. Everyone on the well-organized crew had a task to, knew how to do it and kept at it till the job was done. I was impressed.nnA few days later, another Evansen crew came to install new larger capacity rain gutters and downspouts on our house and garage. They followed all my requests to a T. I would highly recommend Evansen Builders.

I watched Evansen workers install in my neighborhood and I was impressed how fast they worked, cleaned-up and completed a quality installation. I got a card from a worker - a year or two later, I called, Earl [expediter] came out and estimated, showed options of roofing [one shingle seller gave a Veteran couple of hundred $$$ off & Earl gave me immediate credit instead of me mailing in some forms]. Earl explained ice dams, [& not to use roof rakes which just piles snow into the gutters] Earl said I needed 2 feet of sheathing for ice and water barrier to prevent interior penetration from ice dams, recommended and explained I needed continuous roof venting [roof ridge venting]. Workers showed up on time [it was over 100 degrees on my roof that summer]; they installed my roofing timely, professionally, worked hard and finished in 3 days, apologizing for leaving early one day when the temp was over 110 degrees on the roof. Earl, the expediter was especially helpful with after installation service and re-servicing details even later than a year for a gutter leak. I found the process & information provided to be professionally presented, broken down and made simple for someone not experienced [me] so I understood why something was done or recommended. They finished quickly all aspects of the installation and cleaned up. I appreciated their on-time schedule and hard work. It was a positive, first rate experience without exception. I had a full roof replacement. It was done fast including clean up and it looks great. Even my neighbors were impressed with the workers being happy and working very hard.

I was recommended to use Evansen Builders by a friend who said they did an excellent job on her house. I wanted to find a roofer who trained and used their own crew, as a different roofer at my old house did a terrible roofing job as they hired out different crews. Doug Evansen is very knowledgeable with years of experience and explained everything- including his personally trained crew and their experience. I had roof and gutters put on, and they replaced rotted wood around the chimney and did some chimney repair. I feel relieved that the job was done right, it looks great, and the cost was very reasonable. My neighbors even told me how hard the crew worked, and were neat and quiet they were - which made me chuckle. I have already recommended them to a friend.
