Social Security Office

First of all I was put on hold for several hours each time I called, and then hung up on when calling the one 800 telephone number. Finally after Calling for 4 1/2 days straight and constantly being put on hold and hung up on.I reached someone. When I finally spoke with somebody, they told me that they will send me paperwork to fill out through the mail. I was told I should fill it out and submit it back and I will get my social security card. So about approximately two weeks later, I receive paperwork through the Mail and I filled it out and sent it back to the address I was told to.After that approximately 2 1/2 weeks later than that they mailed me back a letter stating, that I cannot get my Social security card unless I send them my original driver license, or original passport. First, of all I don’t have my passport on me . Second of all if I mail them my drivers license isn’t that against the law driving without your drivers license. Seriously!!! This is a government agency. What is wrong with them .Giving me this kind of bad advice. So it said on the paperwork if I have any further questions to call them back at the one 800 number again . Which I did to only be placed on hold several times again. When I finally reach somebody on the phone and confronted them about sending my original driver license in .They told me don’t worry about it that’s how it’s done. I told them what if I get pulled over by a police officer or Something Happens.....they told me don’t worry about it . Seriously this is a government agency...Let’s tell everybody to drive around without their license.....,,

The worst customer service on the phone not only are representative rude and unprofessional but also call to request documents to be sent again or require to get assistance with you case and do not send anything just waste your time calling and not getting anything this is my 3 attempt. First time I called spoke to the worst rep in this office never had letter sent then last two time I called waited over 1 hour on hold to have a rep pick up phone unprofessionally and hang up. I understand their is a pandemic and are limited to employees but people still need assistance with there benefits or information regarding social security, but wonder why so many places are going out of business due to lack of customer service skill and so much more. On 4th attempt just got disconnected again.

due to COVID-19, you cannot get a name change or a replacement SS card in person. I called and spoke with a very helpful agent, who advised me to send my original docs by UPS overnight and include a return overnight envelope. They state that the SSA will complete my request as a priority and send my original docs back to me in the return envelope. Why is UPS unable to deliver the package due to the office being closed. A waste of time and my $53.00! I have no name change and my originals are floating around. So Frustrated!nnUPDATE:. UPS delivered the package. Someone was there on the 3rd attempt. The person at SS returned it with with a letter stating the package is incomplete. Wow. I wasn't given correct information. I called and the surly rep said they needed additional original documents. Back to UPS another $53 spent to get needed documents. So frustrated.nn3RD UPDATE:. 3/8/2021 They took the SS5 form and returned my original documents. Where is the processed Social Security Name Change? WTW? $106 spent and I have no documentation to confirm my name has been changed. Hold time to speak to someone is two hours. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Very attentivennIf you follow the rules the have online everything should go smooth. Everyone from the security guard to the other 2 people that helped me was nice and courteous

This office is still closed to the public. SS office is asking people to mail their original documents (passport, naturalization certificate and other docs) to change your name! Not a good policy! Office was quiet, probably could take appointments but now allowed to.
