Dr. Gunnell and her team at the Satellite Beach Hibiscus Dental are Superb, here are 12 reasons why.nAfter my tooth filled twenty years ago broke in half, a neighbor who is an oral surgeon suggested that I see Sweta Gunnell, D.M.D. at Hibiscus Dental. Here are all the things that were great about my experience.nn1. I was able to see Dr. Gunnell one day after I called their office.n2. They gave the option to fill out all of new patient forms online, which is so much faster than filling our forms with a pen.n3. I was given a 3:00 p.m. appointment, I arrived at 2:55 p.m. and by 3:00 they called my name and started.n4. There office is has the latest technology. The dental assistant took an x-ray and then put a camera / probe in my mouth and on the monitor on the wall I could see by broken tooth from the top and side and understand my condition. Clearly with half my tooth gone this was not something anyone could fix by filling in a small whole or chip. I was going to need a crown.n5. I saw Dr. Gunnell who explained the situation, I was given the option of getting a temporary crown right away or coming back on another day to do the procedure. She was kind, confident, caring, gentle, upbeat, and poised, I knew I wanted her to do the procedure. I was pleasantly relieved to be able to get the temporary crown the same day.n6. Before the procedure began, Dr. Gunnell's assistant gave me a small note that said what the total cost would be, how much my dental insurance would pay and how much my out-of-pocket cost would be. I did not ask for this information, and often times with medical or dental care the price is not disclosed until the end. I wish all medical professionals followed this high standard with respect to transparency and disclosure.n7. Dr. Gunnell was very careful that I had the proper amount of anesthesia.n8. I had a crown done many years ago with another great dentist who moved out of the area. A crown can be a time consuming procedure. Once Dr. Gunnell started the procedure, she carefully and efficiently completed it. Some dentists are a little slow, some jump from room to room, trying to treat two or three patients simultaneously. Dr. Gunnell is engaged. When she is in room you have her undivided attention.n9. I was as comfortable as one could be when getting a crown.n10. The procedure went well, my temporary crown is comfortable, is pain fee one day after the procedure, and the shape is well matched to the shape of the tooth before it broke.n11. There office is serious about COVID-19 safety. Staff were masked. Pens after use are moved from a clean pen cup to a used pen cup. This made me much more comfortable.n12. The next day her office called to check on how I was doing.nnWhile nobody wants to go to the dentist, for dental care I would rather go to Hibiscus dental than anywhere else.

I really like this office. Simple, easy to make appts and no one tries to sell me useless nonsense. I see the dentist each time I get a cleaning too. I will say that Dr. G is such a sweet person. She is compassionate and is very good at what she does. Kindness means so much more than people think.

This place has terrible customer service. After calling several times with no answer I went in to the office since the hours stated they were open. When I got there everyone was in the back chatting it up. After waiting 5 minutes for someone to appear, two people walked by me before a third finally acknowleged me, only to simply state I would be helped in a second. Well she returned to the back to continue chatting away and I left after 10 minutes. If your business is closed and not going to assist a customer, then say so. If you have a scheduled break, don’t claim you’re open. Don’t just ignore a customer because you want to chat away where I can hear you talking about non-work related stuff.

This is by far my favorite dentist office. Donna is always willing to accommodate my constantly-changing schedule, Dr. Gunnell is very thorough and genuinely cares about her work, and the dental hygienists are all very nice as well. I would recommend this dental office to anyone looking for a dentist.

I have been going to Hibiscus Dental for about 3 years now, and had some extensive crown work done among other things. Dr. Sweta Gunnell and her staff are fantastic in my opinion. My whole family goes there now and I readily recommend them to others. I am also one of those people who are petrified of the dentist. No longer with Hibiscus Dental in Satellite Beach. I have never had a bad experience and they ALWAYS go out of their way to be very caring toward their patients. That is my experience.
