It's an amazing place. The animals are well taken care of and respected. The staff are caring individuals who take care of the needs of the animals.
Amazing place with extremely dedicated staff. Almost every animal has a tragic story which you need to hear in respect for these animals and their caretakers. As one very ignorant visitor, who felt compelled to give this sanctuary a one star review because he was bored by the stories being told by the guides, probably thought he was going to the zoo. It's difficult for someone with arrested development and an attention span of a 3-year-old to comprehend what this place is all about. So, that bring said, if you're expecting just a walk through a zoo, this is definitely NOT the place for you.
One of the greatest experiences in my life!!! I went with my grandparents and cousins during my seasonal trip to my grandparents house in Wisconsin. Amazing sanctuary!!! Incredible animals!!! I made friends with one of the horses there, Rusty!! I got really excited when I saw the horses, especially Rusty!! I’m an equestrian and Rusty was the kind of horse that I have always wanted! He looked to me like a red roan thoroughbred or AQH! I also loved the tigers and lions!! Majestic animals with strong spirits!! Another one of my favorites were the wolves. I’ve always loved wolves! When we went we got them howling on camera!! In fact, we got everyone! The lions and tigers were roaring and growling and the wolves were howling! It was incredible!! Overall, amazing sanctuary and definitely recommend visiting!!!
Amazing volunteers. So grateful a rescue like this exists in Southern Wisconsin. Highly recommend thinking of them for cash and food donations. There is a wish list on their website.
Very cool place to spend a few hours. A big fan of their mission. You do need to be a member (or with a member) to be able to get in.
