It is what it is, they are limited on space being downtown, and the two screens are pretty small. You'd think they would try to make the best of it being the only theater in town but it feels pretty disappointing watching a movie here. It's like you are paying to watch a movie at a friend's house with a bunch of strangers and a big television.
It was nice having a theater in Richland Center but it never seemed like it was kept up well or taken itself serious enough. The bathrooms were just disgusting and until just a few years ago the screens were very outdated. They would occasionally start movies early for no apparent reason, sometimes be closed also with no reasoning, and recently wouldn't even play a movie if they didn't feel like it was worth the energy costs. It just felt like they thought they could do whatever they wanted and still get business because they were located in a small town with no competition. Well I think most people figured if they were gonna pay for a theater experience might as well go somewhere that takes it serious like Madison.
Friendly staff, great ticket and concession prices---at least half the amount you pay in a city. I am happy to have a local theater with two movies every night plus an outdoor theater in our small town!

I very nice hometown movie theater. They have free two hour parking which is a plus and show current and high grade movies. The popcorn butter has a certain tang to it that truly makes it one of the best kernels I've ever had the chance to get my lips on. Over all a great theatre.
