Deming Visitor Center

Very interesting museum. Kids are welcome to explore the train. Staffed by friendly folks.

Very friendly ladies we spoke to on a recent visit. They gave us a free street map of the area and some suggestions of local events to visit that were going on in the next day or two. There's a good sized car park right next to it, which was big enough to squeeze in our 30' RV. There's also a handy pay phone just outside that was useful for us as our UK mobiles couldn't pick up a reliable mobile phone signal. The free train ride on offer is actually a free tour of the railroad engine and caboose in the yard outside. It was fairly interesting and is in original unrestored condition. Worth a stop before exploring the area.

Great place to pull over, stretch your legs, and have a good conversation with a nice gentleman running the place.
