Super friendly staff. Great learning experience for my kids.
Went there for the first time with my 3 and 5 year old. We all had a lot of fun, kids really enjoyed it. The curator gave us a hands on experience with some of the fossils for the kids, he was really amazing with them. I highly recommend this place
Tucked away in the corner, quite a nice gem. Fun to learn about the planet, and the focus on wisconsin was an added bonus. The new director took the time, late on a Friday, for a tour through the entire museum. Don't tell anyone about this treat or we will lose our secret garden to the masses!
I admit, I went hoping to find pretty rocks and minerals...but there was so much more! This was not just a great geologic history of the EARTH review, but they had many exhibits fine-tuned to the LOCAL AREA. The Great Lakes, Wisconsin's Glacial History, The Niagara Escarpment, the MINING history and its importance in the BADGER STATE. They had a fair representation of fossils (including dinosaur stuff) for a museum this size. It's not a huge place - but we took our time and enjoyed it for about 2 hours. If you have more time, you can relax at a show in the BARLOW PLANETARIUM - right down the hall. We really enjoyed it.
Surprisingly good sized museum. Went here on a Tuesday during the day. It is inside the UW- Fox Cities campus. Nice little museum with a lot of stuff to see. It is very reasonable cost I think it was $3 for adults and $2 for kids/Seniors (65+). While it might be boring if kids are too young, there is lots of dinosaur bones that can be touched, and a few other interactive exhibits. If you looked at every exhibit and read everything it would probably take about 45 minutes to see everything. It is very impressive for being a museum on a college campus. Lots of information on the history of the land that is Wisconsin but from an Earth Science spin so what happened billions of years ago to even more recent meteor landings. It is right next to the planetarium so you can easily see both in an afternoon if you wished to do so. There is also a little gift shop if you wanted to get a little trinket. Come check out this place if you need something to do on a rainy day and want to learn a little about the Earth.
