Dr Colonje and his staff are amazing.  I was referred to him with a detached retina and they were able to see me immediately and he did the surgery the next day.  I was VERY nervous about the procedure, but he put me at ease with his kind and caring manner. I highly recommend him for any vision issues.

The most terrifying experience of my life occurred here, under Dr. Diego's care. I had my cornea replaced in April of 2019. It got infected and I was referred to Dr. Diego, who recommended emergency surgery for the following day. I arrived around noon. I was told this would be a brief surgery and should take about twenty minutes with the intention of cleaning the infection out. I was very scared, as you can imagine, as he told me I was to receive a needle in my eye, for pain. It started with a surprise shot of Fentanyl. A couple of minutes after the shot, they informed me that the machine they used for the surgery wasn't working and it would take about thirty minutes to change out. I worried about the pain meds wearing off. They said I'd be fine. After what felt like an eternity, the surgery started with another injection. And then, when he cut my eye, I could feel it - entirely. After my eye was worked on, and as I am in grueling pain, they told me I would require two additional shots in my eye. I heard Dr. Diego say, "This is the wrong script", followed by, "And this one is labeled wrong". The nurse told Dr. Diego they had to be compounded at the pharmacy and that would also take a half-hour. Meanwhile, I am laying absolutely terrified, blind and with no supportive care or pain relief and no communication from Dr. Diego or his staff. In fact, I asked multiple questions during this time and most were unanswered or acknowledged. It was 4 pm when I finally left - in shock and pain. This was easily the most frightening experience of my life. I do not recommend Dr. Diego and feel I was treated poorly, my pain - unacknowledged or attended to, pretty much as if I were a second-class citizen. No apologies or sympathy was offered. If you would like your eyes manipulated, cut open and torn up for hours due to multiple medication errors, then sadly, you have found the right doctor. What I experienced here is nothing short of gross medical negligence. Please - be aware - you've been cautioned.

This place has been closed seemingly for quiet a while. I called the place a few times today to make an appointment, but the phone wasn't working. I went there only to find the office is closed, but there was no "closed" sign. I don't understand why they are doing this. This is bizzare.

Had a new batch of floaters in my right eye. Dr Spencer Ray sent me to Dr Diego Colonje for a torn retina. Without laser surgery, I would have lost the vision in my right eye in 48hrs. Dr Spencer Ray and Dr Diego Colonje saved my vision. How do you thank your doctors for sparing you a life changing disability(?) BTW, Any change in your vision... Get it checked out!!
