In bank, in person, service is of good quality, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. However, online services offered and call service is rather limited and frustrating at times. This is definitely a bank to prefer for its local (and regional) community basis, rather than its robust online and international possibilities.
This was formerly First State Bank - which was locally owned. Sunwest took them over and since then things have gone downhill. While some of the old staff remained, new policies and fees were implemented. Sunwest won't even allow their staff to perform notary services for their clients. Additionally Sunwest has implemented a very low security, non-user friendly, on-line banking site. They also tried to charge me about $2300 just to renew my home equity line of credit. It's a shame that this bad corporation replaced a locally owned bank. I am looking around for a better bank. Bank of America is even worse. But maybe one of the others is better.
