I was involved in a motorcycle accident on Green Bay Rd. in Glendale where my bike ended up leaking coolant, oil, and gas onto the road. There was debris covering roughly a 20ft area in the road.nnThe paramedics incorrectly assessed my elbow pain complaint as just a sprain when in reality the head of my ulna had broken off in several pieces. They also required me to pull my wallet out of my back pocket with my broken arm and then painfully pull my insurance card out which was stuck inside my wallet. They also would not provide any water at all despite it being nearly 100F outside.nnThe most annoying part about all of this is that I received a bill in the mail with the vague description of “hazmat.” I never required any nuclear waste disposal or bodily fluid disposal from nsfd so I ignored the bill. A few months later they sent another letter saying the issue would go to a debt collector. I called nsfd asking about the issue and they told me the hazmat fee was for cleaning up the mess left by my motorcycle.nnI found it strange I was being charged $500 to cleanup some stains in the road and debris that were actually still present at the accident scene weeks later. I even took pictures of the scene a few weeks after the accident where you can see the stains in the road and crushed bits of Triumph next to the curb. I even picked the entire clutch lever assembly off the ground.nnTo this day, more than a year later and numerous times contacting nsfd, they have no excuse for the charge.nnI also do not understand the point of paying property taxes towards the local fire deprartment if you have to pay an extra to utilize those services. I don’t pay for nsfd equipment and personnel so they can hangout at the shop and extort people in car accidents when they can.

These guys are bad ass. Allen and hammock put out my fire in my house but they lit one in my heart. Love these guys!
