This place is amazing. We are all treated like family. The teachers are all very amazing and they have always tried their best to help us. I was a student at Desert Horizon since kindergarten through eighth grade. Their staff are great people and they are really kind.

A lot of bullying in this School. The School won't help you with it either. Even Kinder & 1st grader's are getting bullied and physically assaulted.

My daughter's teacher is nice. I see my daughter learning things i didn't think she would in first grade. I sat in the class to see what was going on she made she they were on task. Some of them strayed(ofcourse they are 1st graders) but she got there attention back. My daughter loves her teacher.

The only people that cared about kids in that school is Mr. Aragon and Mr. T. The new principle made promises she couldn't keep and got new teachers from the Philippines that we can't even understand. I don't understand why Ms. Divine is still allowed to work at the school. Thank you for truly giving me the worst 8th grade experience

I started attending this school in 2006, when i was in pre-school. I left for four year, after first grade, and came back in fifth grade. Nothing had changed, until seventh grade rolled around. All the teachers that we started the year off left. The math teacher got hit my a semi-truck, so it wasn't her fault. The reading teacher got a better job offer at a school that was closer to her home, and the science teacher was fed up with the bad behavior of the students, so he left as well. Although we got amazing replacements for Math and English class, We never got a permanent science teacher. It was chaos, considering the fact that the kids in my grade felt the need to act out and make noise, instead of paying attention to our teachers. Eighth grade was a bit better, but that's when we got a new principal, Vice principal, and dean of students. The new principal had/has a mean exterior, which gives one the feeling of being unwelcome. I had to schedule meetings, with the ladies in the front office, to meet with the principal. The ladies in the front office are rude, they yell at the students any chance they get, and they just sit around eating all day, instead of doing their job and helping people. My meetings with the principal were short, but even then, I felt as if she was uninterested in what I saw saying, so I never fully explained what I wanted to do, just so I could get back to class faster. The vice principal was nice, and she actually listened to the students. She had/has a warm, and friendly exterior, making people feel welcome. She also speaks spanish, which was helpful because the dean, and the principal don't speak Spanish. Now for the dean of students. He looks mean at first glance, but he's actually a friendly man. He just has no tolerance for people/children who are disrespectful. Many parents get mad when he doesn't meet with them right away, but that's because he's busy. He cant do two things at once. As for the teachers, most are nice, and some think that just because they have the authority to get someone in trouble, they should. These are my honest thoughts about Desert Horizon Elementary school. Overall, I didn't like it.
