Permit service is horrible

Sandwiched in an area between N. Lake Street, University Avenue, N. Frances Street, and State Street. State Street Campus Garage is centrally located between the far east end of UW-Madison campus and the far west end of the State Street Mall.nnThe garage has two access points. Lake Street access is just north of University Avenue and just south of the Lake Street US Post Office. The second access point is on N. Frances Street north of University Avenue in the middle of the block.nnThis garage is conveniently located near the Chazen Museum of Art and the UW-Madison School of Music. It is also just a short walk to Memorial Union. You will also be parked adjacent to all the shopping and restaurants along State Street, University Avenue and N Frances Street.nnThis garage is great if you want to go downtown, but aren't sure what you want to do. Park here and it's a short walk to 100+ shops and places to eat.nnThe rate is $1.50 per hour and it is a 24/7 garage. Overnight parking is allowed, but vehicles parked over 48 hours may be ticketed and/or towed. Electric Vehicle Charging Stations are available. Motorcycle parking is also available at $1.00 per hour.nn(The garage is actually two garages back to back. Enter off Lake Street, go to the second level or higher, and cross over into the Frances Street side of the garage. There's usually more spaces open and there is also a staircase that lets out right next to State Street Brats.)

I absolutely love parking here because it has a stairwell that doesn't smell like pee. I'm not gonna say which one because someone will probably... Well, you know. I like how the car can just sit there while I do things in the area. Nice and flat parking spots with no broken bottles or displaced druggies hanging around. Who can ask for more... I mean how do you review a parking garage anyways lol

The garage is really tight and awkward to negotiate. Better than walking though. Could use better signage inside.

So great to have this garage available for emergency parking when I miss the bus. I usually don’t worry about getting assaulted in this garage for some reason.
