No words can express how grateful my family is. Wish I could give a million ⭐️’s.
"C"shift at Phoenix Fire Department 35 were so kind, respectful, and very caring! I had fallen and passed out for a second and felt like I had broken ribs-which I indeed did. Those individuals were so caring! Didn't make me feel like I was taking their time for a fall. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! Much appreciated!
Please stay safe!
Last year I had a VERY traumatic experience with this Phoenix fire department. My husband, a veteran, has service related injuries. One of those being he has seizures since being in the military. I called one night because he tends to be loopy afterwards and has even experienced back to back seizures. When they arrived within a minute they asked my husband to sit down, as he crashed into the wall (still part of post seizure he obviously doesn’t know what’s going on,) immediately he was thrown down and had knees in his chest because he didn’t listen to one command! I told them repeatedly “he doesn’t know what’s happening, he’s experiencing a seizure!” Two other men got on top of him smashing his head down and putting all of their weight (of 3 grown men) on him . This was a year ago and he is still experiencing chest pains. They beat him up so badly the doctor was even in shock on how they would treat a seizure patient and filed a complaint herself. I have two young kids who were also experiencing such violent behavior from these paramedics. My husband who still part of his seizure starts grunting and yelling made them become more forceful, putting all of their weight on him. Police arrive and a young idiot threatens to TAZE him if he doesn’t stop moving. I cannot make this stuff up! These people had NO training it seems on how to handle a seizure patient. By then my kids were taken to the room and I’m repeatedly telling the officer “please don’t taze him! Please don’t taze him! This is a medical emergency! He’s having a seizure, of course he’s going to move!” I was so scared they were going to kill him or cause more brain damage. They threw him down again like a piece of trash and Injected him with something when I heard one of the men say “lights out!” Seriously?! Is this a joke?! This ordeal since calling them all lasted about 20 minutes. Instead of causing so much physical harm, why didn’t they give him that medicine from the get go?! How are these people not trained in how to handle someone experiencing a seizure?! I write this review because I believe they need proper training. I told them a million times he was experiencing a seizure and he was treated like an animal. The police even walked around my home as if looking for something. They clearly saw a clean home with nothing to hide. I was a teacher at the time and my husband a government employee. I wish there was some type of legal procedure we could take for the pain and damage and trauma they caused us. This happened a year ago and I have not called 911 since because I’m literally terrrified they are going to kill him instead of help him. I am extremely surprised he survived that last year, Thank God. When we got to the hospital the doctor was not aware that they had called the police on him, she said she would file a complaint because she felt he was not cared for correctly he had so many lacerations. The next day I called and spoke to the captain. I was concerned how they almost killed my husband and about their lack of training on handling a seizure patient. He was unapologetic and said walking around and crashing into walls is “not common after a seizure.” Umm clearly he is misinformed and proved my point on how they need more training. NOT ALL SEIZURES ARE THE SAME. I’ve seen my husband have so many and each time he has blacked out. When we lived in a different part of town paramedics were so knowledgeable repeatedly told him to sit down becuase he was having a seizure (instead of throwing him down and piling on top of him) and my husband was more cooperative with them. Like I said, it’s been a year and I still feel guilt I even called these worthless people. They clearly knew they did something wrong because two days later they showed up at my house to “check” on my husband and brought my kids a gift bag with a teddy bear and let them go look at the fire truck. Why would they do this?. All I could think is they clearly know they messed up. Please train your people, so this does not happen again!!
