I absolutely LOVE camping here. I have camped in this campground all seasons, including snowshoeing in and winter camping. The staff at the office are all WONDERFUL. There was even a ranger who remembered me from the previous winter and we had a good laugh over the wood shed lock freezing shut and the two of us having to shovel it out. The other great thing I have found about this park (other than the trails, the pool, the scenery, etc.) is that if you take the time to look, you can find wonderful fossils right in the dried riverbeds. My 6 year old son loves to search for fossils and gets so excited when he finds one (they are super easy to find, even if you don't know what you're doing)! This park is a gem with proximity to the Cave of the Mounds, and of course Mt. Horeb, where we love to stop at the Grumpy Troll on the way home. If you've never been here, get reservations and go!
