We spent less than 24 hours on the boat. The first night on the boat (early boarding at the dock) the boat didn’t have running water - the guy we worked with, Jeremy, didn’t answer his phone. Gets back in the morning and had to do some work because the lines weren’t connected for water (he clearly didn’t check before we boarded). The doors kept opening every time we hit waves from other boats while driving and the locks didn’t work on either of them, and we had my nephews on board. 100% not safe for children. The generator powers basically everything but he never checked to make sure it worked when the boat was unplugged from the dock and we couldn’t charge phones, run any ac or anything, and we looked at the short wire from the generator into the boat and it was FRIED. Like had been for quite some time. He didn’t do any pre inspection before we took off so we were sweating, tired, he gave us some false info. My mom confronted when he came out on his boat to find us and he got super smart with her and took no responsibility for anything. Was gonna try to keep a good chunk of our money and now he is keeping our deposit (500) and the 150 from early board. Better than being out the full 3,000 for the trip, and we decided to leave. Poor customer service. Do NOT rent from them.

Fun and relaxing. Everyone should do this at least once in their life. The staff at boatels went above and beyond for us. Letting us board the boat a few hours early. Boat was clean and bed were comfortable.

We rented the Drunken Coconut this summer for a weekend. While the pictures on their website look fun and nice,, the boat is nowhere near the condition shown in the pictures. When we arrived, the boat was very dirty, spider webs all over the outside, windows dirty, the micro wave still had splattered food inside from previous guests. I could go on,, Besides being dirty, the boat needs many repairs, updates. Many of the window screens either had holes or were torn, allowing bugs everywhere. The refrigerator did not keep things at the proper temperature as well as the freezer not keeping things frozen. The navigation lights were not all working, therefore were no way legal at night, and the railings on the top deck were not even secured tightly,, if one would make the mistake of leaning on that, it surely would have broken off and the person would be in the water. DNR should be checking these boats out, they are not safe. We will never rent from Boatels again, and would NEVER recommend them to anyone., besides the ridiculous condition of the boats, they have NO customer service. When we returned the boat on our last day,, there was no one even at the office to check the boat back in or fill the boat with gas. And when made aware we were there waiting, they would not come and check the boat out. They were too busy making repairs to another boat,, imagine that. I am surprised they are still in business.

We rented a pontoon boat for a group of 10 family members with the intension of touring the Mississippi River and swimming in MeGregor Lake off of the pontoon boat. I never would have thought that anyone would rent a pontoon boat in such a terrible condition. The seats fadded from the sun and mold and mildew was present. The seats were riped in numerous locations. The front bench seat was covered in a garbage bag then covered with a blanket. We had to place beach towels on all the seats due to the mold , mildew and water that had seeped into the padding from being left out in the rain without being covered. We were unable to do any swimming as the ladder was broken. The flooring was so weak the ladder could not be secured to the boat. We ultimately cut our day short on the water due to the poor condition of the pontoon boat. I would NOT recommend renting a pontoon boat from McGregor Marina.

Me, my husband and two children (ages 10 and 12) just spend four nights on the Reel Inn over the 4th of July holiday. I have to admit that I was apprehensive after reading the negative Google reviews I found online.nnIt turns out that we had one of our best vacations ever! The boat was a little older, but everything was very functional and clean. We felt very at home there right away. We cooked our meals using the gas grill, pots, pans and dinnerware that was provided on the boat. We really enjoyed eating on the shaded front deck.nnWe loved boating around looking for sandy beaches, pulling up and exploring our new location. The river is sandy and weed-free. Some places are shallow enough to walk out really far and the water is barely past your knees. The kids loved the slide that goes from the upper deck into the water. The slide has a pump that sends a continuous stream of water down the slide for maximum speed.nnThe beds were very comfortable and linens/pillows were provided. When you wake up, you can see the river and the beautiful bluffs out the windows.nnAaron was the employee we had the most contact with. He was very personable and helpful. He worked hard to make sure we felt comfortable with our accommodations, the river and the operation of the boat. He provided us with his cell phone number so we could call for advice or assistance if we needed it.nnBefore our trip was over, we started making plans for our next trip.
