I’d like to tell a story about my interaction with these conspiring contractors First Supply / Gerhard’s, Wright Plumbing, and Randall’s Home Remodeling. They destroyed a project we have been excited to complete since the beginning of April. Randy Weinberger of Randall’s Home Remodeling first arrived in the first week of April. It took him 6 weeks to put a design together for a bathroom that is 8’ x 9’. He is slow to return calls and the plumber Brian Wright never calls me back after I leave a message for him.nnOnce the design was complete we were then instructed to take off work and go to Gerhard’s to pick out all the bathroom fixtures. We did so with a Gary Hasenkamp. After seeing the pricing compared to online sources (thank google analytics!) we chose to purchase the same exact items with a $1,200.00 savings from another HansGrohe distributor. This is an Amazon Prime Store who isn’t into abusing it’s customers! That purchase was at the dissatisfaction of Gerhard’s employee Gary Hasenkamp who decided to throw a fit to the plumber Brian Wright of Wright Pluming. I did give Gary a chance to sharpen his pencil. I guess Gary wasn't about to give up the commission he so greatly deserves since he wouldn’t budge on price and stated that was up to the plumber. This online purchase was also to the dissatisfaction of Brian Wright the plumber who then wrote an email to me that he would not warranty any work he did. That included the workmanship as it pertained to installation. These are the type of jobs he does every day. Not sure what he was afraid of but he insisted that his workmanship could not be his responsibility.nnA days later I was contacted by the contractor Randy Weinberger of Randall’s Home Remodeling who then stated he couldn’t work either due to the fact that we didn’t buy the same exact over priced items from their “guy Gary”. I had no expectation that they cover items they did not procure. My expectation was just the work they do be covered by them which seemed to be a reasonable request of both Randy and Brian. I guess not.nnThe next contractor and plumber both stated there was no warranty for parts they don’t procure, but their work has an iron clad warranty for what they are responsible for. The project won’t be completed in time for our daughter’s graduation party we have coming up, but at least we know the project will be done right and we won’t be put over a barrel by these contractors from Columbus WI.nnThe moral of the story is if you use Brian Wright of Wright Plumbing, Randy Weinberger of Randall’s Home Remodeling, or Gerhard’s of Madison their expectation is to be able to price gouge you for whatever they want without any regard for their customer’s interests. In most circles that behavior is called extortion. These grown men will also pout like children if they don’t get their way. I am glad to say we found this out upfront and not after the project was a disaster. Thanks for nothing Randy, Brian, and Gary.
