Matt Philleo has an excellent educational program for those interested in painting realistic portraits using acrylics. I have been receiving instruction from Matt for less than a year and I am so very happy with the progress I have made so far. I have a lot more to learn. The critiques to me have be very helpful. I have used his glazing techniques on other art I have done and love the luminosity effect it has. Matt is a fantastic educator.

Matt is an excellent not only teacher, but the educator. In his classes he shows technique down to great details and explains reasons. His generosity to share his knowledge has no limits. Matt is extremely kind and very spiritual which shows in his works and his teaching. He shares his life with us, his students and I always feel as part of his family. Thank you, Matt!

Matt is a wonderful and patient teacher. He shows a step by step process on his videos and offers more support if needed. Matt emails each client according to their personal interests whether it be miniature portraits, religious art works, landscapes and different painting techniques etc. I highly recommend his classes. Each painting is started with a prayer which is a lovely touch.

As a fellow artist stepping out on my own, I met Matt on the Falling Leaves art tour in 2018. His ability to use the oil glazing techniques of the old Masters allows for such extraordinary light and detail in his work with acrylic paint. It was very inspiring and suggest viewing his work or taking his classes in this technique.

I've thoroughly enjoyed learning the fine details of acrylic portrait painting using thin layers and mat medium from Matt. His enthusiasm, patience, great communication skills, and live of God encourage me to improve my painting skills by his examples. He's always open to communicating with students whether you are a paying student or not. I definitely recommend his beautiful original art and his lessons.
