Very convenient.
I live near this station. I remember watching, over many days and weeks and months, the destruction of the intersection and the construction of this station; especially the overhang with the giant yellow nets protruding from it.
I remember the banner over a year later that proudly announced, "The Metro Light Rail Has Arrived. Come to the Grand Opening with Free Rides; Live Music; Food...!"
That's when I realized the metal thing, over the slab of concrete, with the yellow nets protruding from it was also done. "What does it do?," I asked my sister. "It's artwork," she said. OMG!!
Little by little, I learned that the city had paid an outside artist handsomely to design it.
But "artwork" does not provide shelter from the scorching sun to the consumers of public transportation. In lieu of providing much needed shade at a train station in a city, in the desert; the- powers-that-be poured a slab of concrete, welded some metal framing over it...AND THEN, placed concrete seats, not in shade, but AROUND the perimeter of the slab, in the sun!!!
I just don't get it.
Smells like pee.
