We've long dreamt of kayaking the Apostles and Whitecap made it all come true. We did the trip to Sand Island, which is a little more advanced and felt very confident making the crossing with their expert guides. The sea caves were absolutely incredible, and we thoroughly enjoyed our chats n the paddle over. Neal is a genuinely good guy and its very admirable the work he does to train local youth in kayaking, wilderness training, etc.. It's an epic trip and Whitecap are the outfitters to go with.

Had a great kayaking experience with Josh. He was very helpful with last minute questions we had. We were traveling in an RV and camping in Bayfield so needed to know about parking. Josh replied quickly to voicemail and text. We liked that we were able to go out early (8:30am) and had a small group; there were two other people in our group (we were four). When we were returning we saw several other kayaking groups starting out and the groups were double in size. Josh was very personable, he was on time and had all gear ready to go, answered our questions, and it’s obvious he loves kayaking and the Apostle Islands area.

I booked a half day sea cave excursion with a friend last week. Weather was exceptional, the water was glassy-calm, and Josh was a great tour guide. Informative and fun, without being overbearing. All the gear we needed (kayak, paddles, PFDs, spray skirts, wetsuits, even waterproof phone cases with neck straps) was provided, and in excellent condition. There was only one additional kayak on our tour, and we appreciated not feeling crowded, rushed, or herded like cattle. We took our time, exploring any nooks we wanted to. This adventure had been on my bucket list since 2013 when I had visited the same caves on foot when it was all frozen. It was just as beautiful in liquid form as I had imagined. I'd love to come back and book a full day trip some time!

We had booked a full day kayak and our guides were Josh and Josh :)nIt was JUST what I was hoping for! We got to explore a lot of the nooks and crannies that the shoreline offered. It is so beautiful up there!!!! The Josh's were knowledgeable about the area and you could tell they really enjoy doing what they do. Also, they whipped up a very surprising wrap lunch right on the beach, chopped up avocados, peppers and all. We saw a few eagles (one even flew right over us as we were coming out of a sea cave!!!) and just enjoyed the scenery. I would definitely recommend booking a trip with Whitecap Kayak, and if you can, request the Josh's:)

Josh was an amazing guide! He was extremely patient with our inexperienced group and made it a great experience for us. He was very knowledgeable about the area and was very personable with the whole family. I would highly recommend booking a trip with Josh.
