Deep Water Grille

We went for the full rack of ribs and stuffed mushrooms. Definitely enough for two adults! Very generous portion of ribs. The pineapple coleslaw was stellar as were the cheddar mashed potatoes. For $10, I expected more than four stuffed mushrooms though they were large and had a lot of Cajun shrimp. Very cool vibe (though they were only open for take-away due to COVID-19 restrictions), and connected inside to South Shore Brewing.

We were here a month ago. We were excited to find a place that was open, and that was rated well. A good start to our date weekend- we thought. But, after an hour we still hadn't gotten our order taken. When we did the waiter unabashedly argued that how I wanted my meat was disgusting. My husband went and got his own refills. twice. The manager came around after 90 minutes. She noted that our service was not great, then proceeded to say that well, it is prom night. Um, not one high school couple had come in. No one was dressed up. Wait staff was standing around visiting most of the evening. She blandly offered us a dessert, the only one they have, and we declined due to my allergy, so she literally just turned and walked away. Nothing else from her. And, still we waited for our food. When it did come, I swore the sauce was the one the waiter knew I was allergic to. When my husband tested it, he confirmed it. When we addressed the waiter after he finally came back he stared at us and said of course it was the sauce, that's what comes with it. Um. You mean the one we had a whole conversation about me being allergic to? If it were just the allergy thing I wouldn't be writing this. But my husband was appalled with the whole experience too! The waiter, the wait, the manager, the wrong food, no drink service and having to get his own refills, barely acknowledging the issues to us and no apologies whatsoever. No way will we go back to that restaurant again! Nothing redeeming about it except the old feel of the building.

The food was amazing. We got ours to go, and it still tasted great even after driving back to the hotel we stayed at. The spinach and artichoke dip was so good and came with plenty of fresh veggies to dip in it when the Nan bread ran out. The full rack of ribs was really good and the BBQ on it was amazing. We also got a pizza from them another night, and it was plenty for 2. Overall, everything we had was great.

It was a wonderful experience, the food was flavorful and enjoyable. We started with the cajun shrimp stuffed mushrooms. One of the best things of the night was the compote served on the side of this. The right amount of sweet and tart and simply wow. Then the celery and Sriracha soup had a bit of zing. For me i could have used a little bit more. But i have a high tolerance for heat. Good flavor though. Ribeye steak main it was good. Cooked the way i liked it. I enjoyed the added compound butter on the steak. But the best was the lemon berry mascarpone cake my husband had the New York cheesecake with fruit sauce on it. Both very good. The beautiful combination of flavors made the meal.

Lots of thought went into this restaraunt being open during Covid. Clean place, plexiglass dividers, arrows and walkways and masked employees. AND the food was great. My ribs were tasty and the sauce added to flavor instead of masking it. Meat had just the right pull- from -bone and tender. Really good bartender in first bar too Brenda was friendly and welcomed us to the town.
