Seems they are keeping it as safe as possible at the DMV in Montpelier Vt. The web site for documents to bring could easier to navigate.
It was the most satisfying visit to the dmv that I have EVER experienced.
I've spoken to about 5 Customer Service/Registrations staff in the last few weeks about a complicated registration for my vehicle. Each person was extremely helpful and efficient. They carefully led me through the process and I was/am amazed that during this very rough time for all, they were THERE doing their job - upbeat and kind. Appreciation and thanks to all.
Made an appointment to register a new car. Filled out all needed documents ahead of time as instructed. Appointment was at 9:00. Registration was complete and I was out of building with new plates in hand by 9:05.
I have been waiting 5 weeks now for my registration. I just waited on hold for 1 hour on the phone only to find out that the turn around time for plates is 6 weeks now, as opposed to the 2-4 they told me when I initially mailed my paperwork in.nnEveryone I speak with is very nice but it is totally absurd that a transaction that takes a few minutes in person is taking 5 -6 WEEKS! We live in Vermont! You need a car to get around!nnThe employees are wonderful but whoever has devised the system that is being used right now to process this paperwork is terrible and completely at fault.nNo one can even tell me where my paperwork could potentially be since they ship them out willy-nilly to be processed at DMVs across the state. Absurd.
