John and Tim are good mechanics, happy to give you a real answer to your car problems but also work with you on your budget/what needs to get done and what can wait. Thanks guys!

Brought my car in to have it inspected and was told that the entire underside was rotting/tender, that the brand new strut I had just had put in, not even a month beforehand, was leaking oil and whole strew of other things wrong with it. That it was gonna cost me around $1,500 to fix everything, or that I should just get a new car in his professional opinion, but to make sure I bring it in to him so they can make sure its good. Best part is, I brought it to the shop that had done my strut, oil change and whatever else it had needed right after that visit with lakes and they were very mad to say the least. Nothing that he said was wrong, was actually wrong. Just got it inspected today and all it needed was a tire rod. Not even a $100. Absolutley ridiculous. I will not be bringing my business back to them. I'd much rather take it to someone who actually cares about their customers and not just about taking them for more than they get in even a month of working. Just seems like they were trying to make up for losing money during the shutdown. I do not reccomend them to anyone. On top of that, I was charged $69 just for them to give me a false diagnosis. Thats $9 more than the actual inspection and they didnt even hook it up to the computer. Just tried to feed me a bunch of lies.

Courteous, efficient and most importantly...HONEST!! I try to take my GTI here FIRST before going to my VW dealership. I love these guys!! I had some minor work done today and they even vacuumed my rugs!! Gary and his team are AWESOME!! Lake's Auto Repair is the BEST!!

Got my timing belt done the day after I saw it was cracked. They got me right in, charged a very reasonable price and even vacuumed the car out for me! 10/10
