Peter's paintings ARE Vermont. He captures the beauty, the personality, and the essence both of Vermont and of Vermonters. I first saw a collection of his prints in a shop when I was visiting the state nearly three decades ago, and it isn't an exaggeration to say that seeing Vermont through those paintings was, in part, what inspired me to find a new home here in these mountains. Peter is also a very kind person, generous with his time and knowledge both with other artists and those who are simply interested in what he does and how he does it. In the fall of 2019, I was first introduced to Peter. I visited his studio with some friends staying at Lake St. Catherine . Meeting you and seeing your studio and art, was inspiring.nYou have truly captured life in Vermont... something I have also treasured since I was a student in Albany many years ago. Thank you for all of your work to preserve the beauty of Vermont.

Peter Huntoon is a very skilled artist. His paintings can be more muted and serene or they can be vibrant in color and full of life.Alwaysninteresting and beautiful though.
