Everyone was helpful and nice. You have to go after your out of state license expires to get a full years worth of license though. Went 20 days early so essentially paying for a 4 year and getting a 3 year.l license.

The wait is usually just a couple of minutes, I was in and out registering a new lease in under 15 minutes. Candy (sp?) was super helpful and even called the title company after the car dealership messed up the paperwork. She stayed on the phone with them and insisted that they fix their mistake (title sent to the wrong address), which, to their credit, they did right away.nnHaving experienced the DMV offices in Boston as well as in Los Angeles, I don't understand the negative reviews here. Be nice to people and they will go out of their way to help you.

I come from Mass where we are herded like cattle. Vermont DMV is great and have no complaints. They actually smile and have chairs!
