SHELBURNE VILLAGE MART

I'm reviewing the store, I've never used the service center. Wonderful staff, great fresh Vermont Coffee Co. and Monument Farms half&half to go with. My go to spot for milk, gasoline, coffee and quick friendly conversation!

Even though it's a chain it has a great local feel, the guy who's usually at the register is really friendly and will sometimes even stay open a little late for you just to be nice.

A handy place to stop for beverages and stuff

I brought my car in to have 3 bolts that had snapped drilled out. They did this well. The mechanic also added a couple washers to my alternator to stop it from rattling. That was a nice gesture, but then the alternator was adjusted too close to the timing belt and it caused a very loud vibration against the timing belt cover as soon as I got the car back (making it un-drivable). This isn't why I gave 3 stars... my car is old and I understand that problems arise when anything is messed with. I called the garage to have the mistake fixed and was told to come right in. I live an hour away, so I told them I'd be in in an hour. After driving all the way over, the garage didn't know I was coming and told me I needed an appointment to have them fix their mistake. They were really busy and should not have told me to come over on the phone. Since I drove so far, they did end up fixing the issue they created after some deliberation. The manager made me feel like it was a real inconvenience and kept saying they were too busy (given my car wasn't driving because of their mistake). I got a couple miles down the road and realized they didn't latch the hood of my car... so dangerous! Overall, a lot of run around and bad customer service from management. I gave 3 stars because the mechanic was great and did the original job of removing the bolts well; it was really just the management that was difficult to deal with.
