I had short sighted vision in one eye and long sighted in the other and was getting by. However driving and some other vision problems were becoming a concern. I had heard about cataract surgery but was very hesitant for allowing persons to poke around in my eyes. I finally went in for a consultation with Dr. Saipe, and I am glad I did. He was great! He explained the process in very easy to understand and practical terms including the outcome for my vision and the potential risks. In the end I had the surgery done in both eyes and went from 20-30 to 20-15! I use over the counter reading glasses now which I am used to but my vision for seeing objects further away and driving comfort have improved dramatically. Bottom line, my vision is great! The procedure was simple and quick. 10-15 minutes for each eye. I would highly recommend cataract surgery and Dr. Saipe and the team at the Vermont Eye Laser and New England Vision in South Burlington. It is money well spent.

At 36 my cataract surgery was not as routine as most. Dr. Saipe not only knocked it out of the park but put in extra time to learn new techniques to better the outcome of my surgery. Being able to see well for the first time in years brought tears to my eyes. The difference was far more noticeable then I had anticipated. Cant wait for next week and eye number 2!!!!

The entire procedure is explained clearly as to what to expect and they supply a medication timetable to take home to keep the medications organized after surgery. All this is so important when having surgery and to expect a good outcome for recovery.

I cannot speak highly enough of my recent experience with Dr. Saipe, his staff and the physical set up at Vermont Eye Laser. The surgical area is meticulous as are the offices. Everyone I met was friendly, thoughtful and most importantly very professional. Everyone introduced her/himself and explained the role she/he played in my care. I had and continue to have complete confidence in Dr. Saipe and his team.
