I am not usually one to write reviews, but I feel compelled to do so for Vermont Gastroenterology. I was incredibly nervous about a procedure I needed to have done. From the moment I walked into the building, to the very end, I was greeted with warmth, compassion, understanding and professionalism from every person I encountered. I highly, highly recommend them.

I initially was referred through my PCP to see VT Gastro. This was due to problems I was having that affected me on a daily basis, and made it impossible to lead a normal lifestyle. I met with Dr. Halliburton who came across as very monotone and uninterested in my case. For a follow up I was sent to NP Dacek. She was much more up beat and seemed to be behind me in helping me attempt to return to my normal lifestyle. (I’d give her 5 stars but you have to understand this review is for the practice as a whole; unfortunately not ever good Apple has similar company). We scheduled a procedure for me (months out due long wait lists, understandable). I work as a firefighter / emt; so when COVID began shortly after this I was out serving those that fell ill. I unfortunately contracted COVID-19. But I recovered and weeks later was ready for my appointment. I received a phone call a couple weeks in advance to register for my procedure. I was very up front with them about my run in with COVID. I was assured it would not be a problem. Skip to the day before the procedure and I receive a phone call saying I would not be allowed to have my procedure. So here I was having waited months and months for a diagnostic procedure to help me try to gain control of my life back and they tell me I cannot have my procedure. They would want multiple tests for COVID due to my past diagnosis. Then they go so far as to say they’re unsure when I can reschedule. Between the lazy and non passionate care I received from the Dr to the drop of the ball with my procedure; I was fed up and deeply discouraged. As someone who’s also in the medical field I feel this practice has forgotten what’s most important; The PATIENT. People forgot that they pay large amounts to their insurance, that in return pay Doctors and practices lots and lots of money. Medical care still deserves proper customer service. All and all I’d take your health and well-being concerns to a practice that still cares and values their patients.

Excellent customer service, kind and compassionate care, and (thankfully) humor. So happy with Dr. Schwartz and his staff, and the new facility (Green Mountain Surgery Center). A colonoscopy is not a pleasurable experience, but having one with these folks really helps to make it more tolerable! And the fact that they are independent from UVMMC also makes this customer very happy. Highly recommended.

I wouldn't know how there service is because I couldn't get passed their rude demeanor over the phone.

I saw Dr David Schwartz several weeks ago for persistent stomach pain that I have been having over the past several months. Not only did Dr Schwartz take the time to help me figure out what might be going on, he went out of his way to send me information and articles to help me educate myself. He is an excellent provider.
