Big Big on the Battenkill Kayak and Tubing

Big Big disappointment. Had a group of 18 reserved for Saturday the 22 nd of August. Had been communicating with Kristen for three weeks via texts on my cell. I made the last confirmation the Thursday before and headed off to her location. Myself and other members of my party who had arrived before me were greeted with an irate Kristen yelling about people not reading their texts and that she is not a weatherman, etc. I examined my phone and found there were no texts following the one on Thursday. She was yelling at us as we drove off and found another location to enjoy the day. Upon returning home I found a message on my home phones voice mail recorded at 10:55 am when we were already on the road for 30 minutes. All she had to do was apologize for the miscommunication and all would have been OK, but she did not. She needs to have someone help her with phone communications and needs to take a class on customer relations. We also noted her tubes to be of a very flimsy material, more like dollar store quality and not the professional tubes we had rented in previous years from BVO which unfortunately was closed due to co-vid. We certainly will never use big big again. I advise you to stay away from this outfitter.

This was a fun place to go I loved the workers, the van was a bit cramped for my family and the website forgot to mention how much bugs there were but other than that terrificnnPs. Bring bug spray.

We had a lot of people, but they seemed prepared for the most part. There was a lack of communication on their part and a lot of confusion. They got mad at us, but it's their business and should take more responsibility. No signage. No shoe rentals either even though the website says there is. Asked the guide about the shoes and she turned away from me and grumbled to herself about how unprepared we were. Maybe if you didn't say shoes were available to rent I would have brought some. Told us the water level would be high since it had just rained, but we had to continuously get out of the tubes and walk due to low waters. Not really a review of the business, but the river itself. Had a lot of fun.nnEdit: No where on your site did it say we needed to call ahead for shoes. Removing a star since all you seem to do is become defensive when faced with confrontation. I said I had a good time.
