I had a great experience with Scott and his staff. Very quick to get me in and very walked through everything with me. I ended up having a wisdom tooth root go around my nerve on either side, so I opted out of taking the entire tooth out. I was told my options very clearly, and that was the best route. I had a great recovery process and Scott even called to check in a couple times. The only small complaint I would have is that three nurses tried to get the IV in but couldn't. I don't blame them as the nurses at the hospital for a different surgery couldn't get it first try either. Scott came in and got my IV in a different spot. I have had a couple check up appointments, and they all have gone just as smoothly.
Dr. Bowens a good surgeon and clearly knows what he's doing. Other than that my biggest complaint was his attitude, he's abrupt & hostile, the nurse wasn't any better, she clearly didn't know what she was doing. I wouldn't recommend to a friend and I wouldn't myself go back. I don't pay people to treat me with disrespect. Dr. Bowen needs an education on bedside manners. Also Teresa the receptionist was no better, she was difficult and argumentative and all I was trying to do is make an appointment for one extraction and she wanted me to jump through hoops, I told her I would find someone else and she hung up on me. I don't know what was worse the toothache or dealing with those people. Good luck to anyone else going to this practice to have their teeth extracted.
The ONLY reason I’m politely giving them two stars is because the surgeon Scott, did a pretty good job on removing my “highly impacted” wisdom teeth. However... the nurses are very uneducated. Not only did they delay my healing process but because of their INCORRECT instructions for after care of my mouth, face and teeth I lived in what felt like hell, with endless amounts of agony. Not to mention they DO NOT give you an Antibiotic just Incase you become infected (dry sockets are extremely common, driving to pick up an antibiotic while under pain medication and extreme pain is so Dangerous!) nor did they give us a rinse for keeping your mouth clean! This was shocking to me. The nurse suggested I rinse with “salt water” but not until after five days?!nLiving in a family with RNs, we know red flags when we see them. I even called to make sure I had the right instructions... The nurse who was put on the phone to talk to me basically laughed when I told her there’s something not right or I’m missing part of an aftercare routine. She told me to ice it. Mind you, this is after 36 hours after the procedure. In which most nurses and oral surgeons know after 36 hours ice literally has no beneficial effect. At this point I’ve taken matters into my own hands and have been applying moist hot cloths to my face. It has reduced pain tremendously, swelling and I can even open my mouth! Unless you basically want to figure everything out on your own or through other doctors... DO NOT GO HERE.
My parents were visiting from out of state and my mom had an emergency root canal with a local dentist. The situation worsened with an infection and the dentist got her in with the oral surgeon here. It was an emergency consult and then an emergency tooth-pulling with a VERY bad infection. He and the staff were fantastic about squeezing her in for the consult, then squeezing her in for the actual emergency surgery, and they were so good about followup as well - the doctor texted her twice and called once in the followup AND he was even on vacation the following week! Really appreciate their expertise and willingness to be flexible with her.
Worst experience of my life
