North Country HealthCare - Holbrook

Their billing is suspect. The first time I was double billed for services, I thought this was a simple accounting error. Until it happened again. Despite having a top tier health insurance policy, every service they provide ends up in billing disputes. After speaking with friends, I found that there were others who shared the same experiences. A reasonable person would conclude that this is a calculated business practice. This is sad because I really like the staff, and the service they provide. Were it not for their billing practices I would rate North Country with five stars.

Called to try and make an appointment, waited on the phone for 26 minutes just to have a harsh voice answer asking if it was alright to put me on hold, before I could even answer she puts me on hold just to move on to the next caller in line. I only know this because my wife was the next caller in line on our landline. My wife hung up on the lady and then she come back on my line saying sorry about the hold. I will never take myself or my children back to this place as long as I live in Holbrook. I will go out of my way to make sure my family/ friends/ and co-workers alike will never visit your business again. Thank you for zero help.

As far as the healthcare itself goes, no issues, nice PA. However, not so much with the billing department. I got billed last year for lab work that is part of a 100% insurance covered well check that was done during a 6-6-19 visit. The wrong dx codes were sent to Labcorp, who in turn sent those same incorrect codes to the insurance, and the lab work bill was denied. So LabCorp billed me a whopping $659. I had to ask and ask and ask and ask the billing dept to please send the correct codes. Nothing got done until I pitched a fit on the North Country "contact us" form. The office manager called me and said that it was done, the correct codes were sent. Foolish me for believing him and not following up. Now, January of 2020, LabCorp is harassing me again for the same event. I checked with the insurance today. The wrong dx codes were sent, apparently a 2nd time. How hard is it to send the right codes? Before I got the new LabCorp letter, I was seriously thinking that I would give you guys one more chance. No way now, I'm not going back if this facility can't bill correctly. If you've made it this far reading this review, here's what North Country sent to my insurance. I went in for a Well Woman check. That's it, nothing else, just a yearly physical and a pap. I had no other issues going in. The exam was covered by the insurance 100%, even the mammogram in a different facility was covered 100%, but the labs for the pap were sent in with the dx of......obesity. What? Really? So of course, that dx does not match up with the service, and weight loss or anything related to it, is not covered at all by my insurance. Hey, NC, I didn't go in there for weight loss! I'll go somewhere else for my physical this year, it's almost time for the new yearly exam, and I'm still fighting LabCorp about last years exam. If you can see that they only have 2.5 stars, that's your red flag right there. If NC refuses to get this fixed, THEY will be paying that $659 LabCorp bill.

None of the staff is trained in CPR nor do they know what to do when someone is dying or has died in their lobby. Completely untrained staff. Even the "doctor" can't do his job right. If you want to live stay clear away.
