Decent Law School. But...the school has a long-term issue with Hispanic student and faculty representation. When I was a student there, they seemed to look down on the one Latinx student organization (which understandably went defunct). I think the administration likes it this way, because they make zero efforts to correct the problem. I don’t think there’s a single Spanish-speaking professor in the whole school. I think they even shy away from hiring Hispanic support staff. I don’t remember ever seeing any other Hispanics when I went there. Except for a handful of other students. It was literally 5 other Hispanic students in the whole school.

They know a decent amount about the law. I like it.

I am a Widener Law grad (Delaware) and I graduated over 10 years ago. There is absolutely no way that this law school improves the lives of the majority its graduates. Almost everyone I know who graduated from Widener is worse off in life than if they did not attend. People graduated from Widener with a lot of student debt and no legitimate job opportunities, unless you call making $35,000 for some small firm in Philadelphia a job opportunity and you have to fight to get that job. You can make that kind of money with a high school diploma. You certainly do not need to waste seven years of your life and at least $100,000 in student loans to make that kind of money. None of the professors I had knew anyone to help students get a job. A lot of Widener's professors never even practiced law so they have no contacts in the surrounding legal communities of Wilmington and Philadelphia. Deans of this law school (they have a lot of turnover with Deans) are not from the area so they do not have any contacts with law firms or judges in the Wilmington/Philadelphia area. One former Dean of Widener who is also a Widener grad ended up becoming a legal recruiter after she left the law school. That tells you what a Widener Law degree is worth. Do yourself a favor and do not enroll at this school. It destroys people's lives.

Even though he didn't have an appointment, an adviser still took a few minutes between appointments to speak with my husband.

I received my Paralegal Certificate from this school after I got my undergraduate degree. Unfortunately, this was an absolute waste of time and money. The certificate was very expensive and I could not even find a job in the field. Thankfully, I passed my NMLS test and became a Licensed Loan Officer for a mortgage company.
