Safeway Pharmacy

I just got to the store with a prescription given to ny husband by the ER doc. The pharmacy was closing. They filled it for us right then and there. They went above and beyond and I can't thank the staff enough for that!

I called them because I ran out of syringes for a prescription medication that I have to take subconsciously and I wanted to see if they had what I needed before driving into town. Instead of just answering my questions the pharmacist said that they aren't allowed to sell needles to people who don't have a prescription under Oregon State law (lie). I have purchased needles, both for intramuscular and now subcutaneous injections in a variety of places without even being asked for a prescription for years.nI then went on to explain that yes I do have a prescription and they became more forthcoming about what they were selling. Even if I was using it to inject illegal drugs it's wildly irresponsible to deny someone who asks for needles regardless of what they are using it for. How many people contracted HIV, Hep C, and infections because misguided pharmacists denying them needles which forced them to share or re use needles?

I called at noon. They said my prescription was being taken care of. I called again at 4 to see if it was done, they said it was done i had two items. I let them know it was three. They said no it was two. They were really snappy and rude about it. I asked them to please check...what do you know...it was three items...oh and now my wait was an hour. It wouldn't be done until 5. I asked if i could have it any sooner and they said that was where i was in the line. They seemed really stressed out so i let it go. I called at 5:15 before heading out to see if it was done. AGAIN they couldn't find the third item and said I would have to wait until 6. I get up at 2 am for work. I'm in bed by 6 usually....but i'm staying up....and if i call back at 6 and they have me wait LONGER, i'm going to be pissed. This is my first time using this pharmacy....and it been a frustrating experience. Which makes me sad because when i went to drop my prescription off yesterday they were really nice and helpful and i was excited to switch pharmacies! I've never had these issues at the Fred Meyer Pharmacy in Newberg. Maybe they need more staffing? I hate to see people so stressed and I hate staying up late...

I love going to this pharmacy the staff there is so awesome, best pharmacy and staff in McMinnville.
