I called twice for an estimate to refinish my hardwood floors. Donnie couldn’t be bothered to come do it himself. Instead, he sent one of his employees, Jerry, who was very nice. Donnie gave me an estimate of the price and duration of the project over the phone. I agreed and work was started. Two weeks after work was supposed to be completed, Donnie told me the job was more complicated than he had thought and would take a couple more weeks and cost almost double what he’d quoted me. I told him that’s what the quote was for and that he couldn’t change the price in the middle of the job. I told him he should’ve done the estimate himself and we wouldn’t have had this problem. He was very angry and yelled at me that he knew after the first time I spoke with him that I would “Jew him down on the price.” He said he wouldn’t finish if I didn’t agree. I agreed. I paid him. He didn’t put a final seal on the floor so now I have to pay someone else to do it.
