After hurricane Florence, our insurance company denied our claim and we did not know what to do. Luckily we found out about Capital Adjusting and Adam Schwartz. Adam explained the whole process to us and we were so relieved we finally had someone in our corner willing to help and give us hope. They did a full assessment of our repairs and fought for us. Adam walked us through every step, answered every question and went over every detail. He more than met our expectations. We were finally able to make our repairs and not worry about cost. I had no idea, as most people don’t, what a public adjuster was. I was led to believe that the adjuster that the insurance company sent out was a neutral party. They are most definitely not. They do what’s in the best interest of the insurance company. I had an awful flood in my home. The insurance company paid me $1700 dollars when the flood came from the second floor to the first. What could I possibly repair with $1700 dollars. I then had a second flood 5 months later, as I’m sure not being able to fully repair the first flood caused it to flood again. The insurance company said they would not be paying anything because I didn’t finish all the repairs from the first flood. I don’t know about you, but I am unaware of any contractor willing to fix an entire bathroom and kitchen damaged in a flood for $1700 dollars. I thought I had to figure out how to make the repairs myself and on a veteran permanent disability income, there was no possible way to save the amount needed in only 5 months time of the first incident. If it wasn’t for Capital Adjusting, I would have been without a usable bathroom or kitchen for quite a long time, if I was able to even fix it at all, like ever, and as a single mom of 4 and a disable veteran, that would have been an incredible challenge for us. Adam with CAS was able to get me more than I even imagined. Much more!! I am able to restore my home to even better than what it was before. I could not, nor would I have known how to face any of this on my own. He had my back through the entire process and not once did I feel like he wasn’t there for me. He got me exactly what anyone should get, and even more, when faced with unforeseen occurrences, ie 2 floods. We used Capital for our Hurricane Florence claim after being told by the insurance company that our claim was worth. $18,300. Adam came out personally and explained the process saying that his estimate would be over $100,000 and that is what we should have been paid. I first could not believe he could do what he claimed but in less than two months he called my husband and I to ask if we would settle for $128,500. I nearly fell off the phone. Adam is the real deal and if it were not for him I would never know to fight back and my house looks amazing!
