This company is positively atrocious. They have to be the worst licensee of Blue Cross Blue Shield in the entire country. Years ago, they accidentally doubled billed me for a month when I was on an individual plan, and it took HOURS of phone calls to resolve it and get my money back. I eventually had to threaten to have my credit card company do a charge back, and they admitted their mistake!nI was with a company that had Anthem for a couple years and it was a world of difference. I could get vaccines at the pharmacy with Anthem, with Carefirst (more like, profit first) I have to make an appointment and go to my primary care provider. Anthem is always pleasant when you call on the phone. Anthem's website was perfectly clear to use, and their EOMB statements made perfect sense. Carefirst's website has always been awful, and continues to be. Latest mystery: I submitted a perfectly concise out-of-network claim, with documentation. In the pending claims section, they have DOUBLED the dollar amount of the claim. What in the world!? Do they have ill-trained monkeys doing data entry? Why is data entry even required? I entered a dollar amount in an electronic field...move that to a section of computer memory, and move it elsewhere in your systems, without doubling it!

Impossible to get in touch with customer service. Absolutely terrible.

I have CF dental and my husband has health and dental. The most fraudulent company I have ever dealt with! Mostly reach an automated system when you Call! They denied most of my dental claims. Also, most of my husband health claims. He needs to have a complicated surgery and they refuse to cover any portion of it. Instead they have my husband running around to find someone in network. So he has to remain in pain until this happens. Don't worry though because open enrollment is coming! They advertise they are one of the most ethical companies. Yeah ...right? Says whoever they paid for that title!

Stay far away from CareFirst if you can. I got an MRI and CT Scan and they actually denied full coverage because MRIs/CTs are not diagnostic. Seriously. And when I said that it WAS diagnostic, they actually accused me of attempting insurance fraud. Now I am stuck in a dispute nightmare that's been going on for the last 7 months.nnThey've been feeding way too much corporate Kool-aid to their employees and they have zero ability to use common sense.

Sadly, they don’t even cover prenatal care, pumps, the cost of having a baby! The worse. But have the nerve to call to ask me how the pregnancy is going.. IT WOULD BE BETTER IF I DIDNT HAVE TO STRESS ABOUT THE OUT OF POCKET COST! This is my third baby and the fish one I’ve ever had to pay 25% of the cost of appointments and delivery AND I WORK AT THE HOSPITAL WHERE I GET HEALTH BENEFITS, THAT I SEE PROVIDES AND WILL DELIVER AND STILL GOTTA PAY!! Sad.
