I received a seatbelt violation while passing through Arkansas...having the seatbelt underneath my arm...and was told repeatedly by the officer that this was exactly the same as not wearing it, according to the law. I should have heeded the warning on TripAdvisor about this area targeting tourists with tickets like this. I am currently trying to pay the fine, but am received a busy signal repeatedly from the number that was on the ticket (and is listed here for city hall) and from another number that I found online in hopes that I would be able to actually talk to an individual. What kind of backward town does not have rollover lines or at least a message system at city hall to handle calls. The online payment system that they use to handle online payments wants to charge a processing fee of more than 10% of the cost of the ticket. All I want to do is talk to somebody to confirm the process of paying by mail so that I don't receive a warrant for this ridiculous citation! Maybe my $90 can help add a line for this month!
