I called the tower to let the know that I will be flying a drone in a Class D airspace. I own a Mavic Mini which is under the registration weight limit. I’m also not using my drone for commercial use just for recreational use and they told me I needed to register my drone. It makes not sense because the drone is meant not to be registered. The guy kept laughing at me and kept repeating himself. I know what I’m supposed to do with my drone and registering it to fly is not part of it. I do understand I need LAANC which is the reason I called the airport. And the just laughed and hung up.
