This was a really neat adventure however if you are really set on finding a diamond you surely need the proper tools and equipment. I def recommend purchasing your own tools that you need before hand. Don't wear good clothes and surely have some good boots on!!! Plan to be there most of the day since the passes are good for 8 hours.

Fun place to take the whole family. Digging in the dirt and you get to take what you find! Would have been nice to have known that most of the rocks out there are Jaspers beforehand especially when everybody is looking specifically for diamonds and you haven't been before. But they do have someone to check your rocks and let you know what you found. You will get dirty so make sure to bring an extra pair of clothes for the little ones if you don't want your car getting all dirty. Masks are required right now and all covered buildings and they enforce it. Make sure to bring heavy duty shuttle because the ground can be really hard.

This is the Crater of diamond State Park you can go there and sift through dirt looking for diamonds or other precious stones it's a pretty busy spot there are people that find good finds there every day so check it out

I enjoyed visiting but didn't think I wanted to get dirty digging so just looked at the information in the center. NOTE THERE IS NO WIFI AND NO CELL SIGNAL SO DON'T THINK YOU CAN SEND ANYONE A PHOTO OR TEXT.

Was just to hot digging in August for things but loved the idea. We will definitely return in the fall & we can't wait.
