Our Lady of the Valley

This Catholic church is just across the street from Eastern Oregon University and La Grande Middle School, and offers services on Saturday at 5:30 pm and Sunday at 10:00 am.nChristmas Eve midnight mass is a beautiful service complete with a Christmas tree and birthday cake celebration following in the parish hall.nVery welcoming and inviting.

Attended during my college years. Priest was real kind and hospitable. That was some time ago.

Better than the Lighthouse Church! Didn't get what I ordered.

I know someone who tends to act irrationally and illogically when she gets upset. One time she threatened to never talk to me again over something completely inane, and I was baffled. I got word that during this time, she would speak in tongues, hear voices, and never shower or shave. After some discussion, we believed she might be under some sort of paranormal possession and proceeded to seek out advice for our next course of action. We talked to someone outside of this Catholic church about our issue. Nothing ever came out of it, and we're not even quite sure if the person sitting out on the lawn eating a bag of pork rinds was a priest or a parishioner. While her issues continue to this day, I can't fault this church for that and award it five stars due to longstanding Catholic guilt.

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church started in 1914. It has got a long tradition and assisted lot of people in La Grande and around in Oregon. It is a beautiful church with stained glass windows. There is Eucharistic adoration 4 days a week - Monday to Thursday.
