They were generous with the samples. (Whoa! Someone has to drive!) We tried some of the sweet wines and meade, then bought a few to take home. I'm no connoisseur, mind you, so I really enjoyed some of the very forward and bright flavors, without guessing what it's supposed to hint at reminding me of. Bam! Blueberry and honey - I'll take a bottle.nThe little museum was interesting - some Arkansas wine history, prohibition, plus the story behind the Cowie winery. A fine way to spend a half hour.nIt's close enough to go back another day to try some more samples. There are plenty to choose from.

My wife and I visited over our anniversary weekend at Mount Magazine. The winery is small, but cozy in a rustic kind of way. If you enjoy fruit, or sweet, wines then this destination is a must.

This place is a hidden gem. Do not go expecting a cookie cutter winery with phone obsessed teens taking your money. This place is run by the owner and winemaker Robert Cowie. Yes as said below he takes time to get to the door, but unless you are silly, wait until he arrives. He has some health issues that slow him down so I give him a pass, but he continues doing what he loves so I respect the hell out of him. It is also beneficial because what he loves is producing the absolute best wines made in Arkansas and in my humble opinion, anywhere else. Me. Cowie makes the best Port I have ever tasted, a port that has won multiple awards. I have not tasted one wine that was not expertly made. Honestly, this man is a craftsman in an age of pseudo craftsmen. It is worth the drive and wait. If you are lucky, you may be able to speak with Robert and see the true passion he has.

Robert's Port is the best I've ever had. Robert is very interesting. Loved talking with him. This is a must do stop. Wines were excellent. The true attraction is the owners stories of his travels & his love for bells & historical autographs. Even showed us his latest signature of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence William Paca.

One of the best wineries in Arkansas. Robert's Port is an award winner along with many other great wines!
