Rare Earth Adventures

I flew in to Portland all the way from Florida for my first overnight backpacking trip - 3 nights on the PCT (women's trip). I did not really know what to expect as I I had never backpacked before. But Rare Earth Adventures was so welcoming and supportive. They lent me any and all the gear I needed at no extra charge - everything from a backpack to a tent and sleeping pad.nAnastasia was my guide and she was so patient, informative and kind. She taught me everything. Now I feel more confident backpacking. I even know how to pitch a tent and filter water.nIf this is your first time backpacking or you are an experienced hiker and you just want to meet new people, I highly recommend a trip with Rare Earth Adventures. All the guides are so friendly and you will feel safe and learn so much.

This trip was awesome even thou I did not finish. The people were very personable and kind. Our guide was amazing. I trip that I will be doing again next year.

We had such a great time snowshoeing at night with Daven. We all live in Portland, however this experience was super amazing and something we haven’t experienced before. Daven was a great guide! Would definitely recommend to others.

I recently went on the moonlight snowshoeing trip at Trillium Lake. It was a first for me. Snowshoeing was more difficult than I thought it was going to be, and I really struggled on the way back. Our guide Daven was super supportive and kind. He encouraged me to go at my own pace and not to worry about slowing down the group. I appreciated his upbeat attitude and jokes. The trip was well organized, and the snacks/drinks provided at the resting spot were a nice touch. I would definitely go on another trip with REA.

Bought a Groupon for midnight snowshoeing. Didn't know what to expect as it was our first time snowshoing. About an hour drive up to white river canyon trail. Anastasia was our guide and she did a great job of teaching us about the mountain and coaching us on what it would be like when we got there. Our group of six had so much fun and the weather was perfect! We could see perfectly even without headlamps. The picnic at the top was a perfect break. We got some cool pictures but most of the trip you just can't experience without going yourself. Thanks guys it was a lot of fun. Definitely go on lore adventures with this company!
