Christine's African Elegance Hair Braiding & Weaving

I am from Texas and relocated to Jonesboro recently. I called the number from the net and was greeted as if it were a personal phoneline with a “hello” (first red flag) asked for service and was told the shop was closed at 6 when the net clearly says 7 pm. Was asked to send pics of my hair for a price and was never contacted again despite numerous attempts to contact the number again. Going to Memphis for my braids thanks tho.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Save yourself a massive headache and go elsewhere for your braiding needs. My wife and I travel for work and happened along this place. The first visit was fairly cut and dry, other than getting a call a week after scheduling wondering where we were when the appointment wasn't for another month, and the styling took longer than expected. Oh, and the braids started falling apart two weeks too soon...but, we were going to give it another shot thinking it was just a fluke. So we booked an appointment on Sunday for 9am, and stayed in a motel to be sure we were here on time as we are hours away. My wife called and said she would be there at 9:04, and was told that the appointment was for 10:00...ok, whatever.. came back at ten to discover nobody was there except what appeared to be another customer waiting in the parking lot. Wife went in, and was told that yes, another customer had the 10 o'clock. We were told to come back in 45 minutes....We already knew this was a ridiculous statement as there was no way she would be done that soon. I have never had such TERRIBLE customer service experience except for maybe when I have to deal with Verizon. We went back an hour and a half later and the other more important customer was only halfway done. We will not be giving anymore of our money to this business, if you can even call it that. HEED THIS REVIEW AND STAY AWAY

I made this appointment approximately a week and a half earlier because I was heading out for Cruise. when I got there Christine disputed what I had told her I wanted done to my hair which was tree braids when I arrived there was two other young ladies in the chair and two women working on them one of the service gals decided that she needed to leave and go to work that left one hair braider plus Christine the other young lady was tasked to sit there with her hair half braided for three hours until Christine finished my hair when I made the appointment I ask Christine if she provided here which she replied no. Once I arrived she came out and produced some hair that she claimed was from Africa and wanted to charge me an additional $30 for the hair and which I disagree because I had already paid for and provided my own. we agreed and settled in on $20 for the hair that she had because it was beautiful during the process we argued back and forth because I could tell she was not braiding my hair to the standards of what I've had previously and it was not within the same condition of what I am used to. after 7 HOURS she finished installing the hair she applied Pink oil moisturizer cream to the hair which made a very hard and brittle the hair was garbage. I had my NATURAL hair and parts left out exposed and not braided the hair is terrible it's a week later and I'm removing the hair. $150 wasted... find another hair braider if I was you... she is slow and she is highly distracted by the television hang above her head. In the future I will travel to San Antonio or Houston to have my hair done properly

I recommend this people they were so nice they will offer you drinks an snacks and I love my hair i will definitely recommend this place and I will be back
