Wonken is an enigmatic indigenous community located in the Gran Sabana municipality, in southern Venezuela, which concentrates a beautiful landscape, characterized by greenish savannas, giant tepuis, rivers, waterfalls and the kindness of its testers, of the Pemón ethnic group. It is located 30 minutes by air from Santa Elena de Uairen. It has a landing strip for airplanes, an ambulatory, a dam that supplies electricity to the community, a large school with a farm and about 60 families. Although it is not a place open to tourism, some adventurers usually visit the #Wonken tepuis by helicopter Wonken is undoubtedly an enigmatic place, full of beauty and a pleasant climate. ... 😊

Wonken is a Pemon Indian Community. There they have a fairly large airstrip, since it was built to carry the materials for the construction of the dam that supplies the community with water and electricity. It was built by Edelca. Wonken is a very large community in the southern region of Bolivar State and has a Type II Rural Outpatient Clinic and a School Farm that provides education to children.
