The Park of "The Illustrious Trujillo" was inaugurated on June 15, 1970, the order speaker was Dt Mario Briceño Perozo, speaking on the life and work of Dr Mario Briceño Iragorry. The Park has an area of ​​62 thousand m2 and is located approximately 877 meters above sea level, in the Sector in front of the "Rafael Rangel" University Center; the first part was built between 1969 and 1972, in the First Presidency of Dr. Rafael Caldera and during the Alejandro Sánchez Cortés Governorate; in 1969 - 1974, the second part, in the First Presidency of Carlos Andrés Pérez and during the Governments of General Antonio Briceño Linares (1974 - 1975) and José de Jesús Niño Bertoni (1975 - 1977); Pedro Jose Olmos from 1977 + 1979 ; in 1979 - 1984, the third part, in the Presidency of Luis Herrera Campins and during the Governorate of Dr. Dora Maldonado Mancera. Its total culmination was carried out by Governor Eleazar González. The Resident Engineer of Los Ilustres Park was Cruz Rafael Morales Silva. In 2006, during the Presidency of Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías and the Government of Doctor Gilmer Viloria Hernández, parts were made and the headquarters of the Trujillo State Culture Directorate were built.
