Macagua I and II are part of the Bajo Caroni hydroelectric project. They are located in the final stretch of this river. These guarantee a continuous supply of electric power and a minimum reserve of 25% on the estimated maximum demand. The dam is located within the urban perimeter of Ciudad Guayana. When designing it, priority was given to all those elements related to the human factor and the environment.
