It is impressive when it is full of water, that is, in the rainy season it has a force that inspires fear and respect. If it is well filled it is normal to get wet just by going through there. You can see it in passing if you go from Puerto Ordaz via Upata. It's a show that is worth stopping for a moment and taking some pictures ...

Macagua I and II are part of the Bajo Caroni hydroelectric project. They are located in the final stretch of this river. These guarantee a continuous supply of electric power and a minimum reserve of 25% on the estimated maximum demand. The dam is located within the urban perimeter of Ciudad Guayana. When designing it, priority was given to all those elements related to the human factor and the environment. Special attention was given to the natural attractions Cachamay and La Llovizna whose waterfalls are turbine waters.
