Morichal Largo River

Home of the largest Anacondas I have seen so far .....

Beautiful river surrounded by a lush forest where the Moriche palm abounds. It is the home of an indigenous community of the Warao ethnic group that maintain their culture and language. They are very friendly. A visit to the beautiful Morichal Largo River just 80 km from the city of Maturín gives you a view of what the Orinoco Delta is like since the Morichal Largo River flows directly into the Caño Mánamo del Delta and therefore can be considered an extension of the great Deltaic system of the Orinoco. Downstream, more than 1 hour sailing by boat, you reach the Guasacónica Lagoon where the dolphins or freshwater dolphins eventually take refuge to take care of their young.
