Extraordinary experience of seeing the operation of a huge telescope in an even bigger dome. The platform where people are located goes up and down as necessary. The broken dome. The mechanisms that move all of that are huge and surely costly to maintain. It is German technology from the 50s of the 20th century. Having the opportunity to observe planets and other celestial bodies in a telescope so large that it is a very expensive scientific research instrument makes the visit to CIDA a unique experience. And the rate is a symbolic payment. It is worth the equivalent of 1.2 dollars per person.
